The week of 28 June is fast becoming the unofficial start of summer in Atlantic City. Technically, summer starts on 21 June. However, with Hard Rock Atlantic City and Ocean Resort Casino both opening on the 28th, a large influx of tourists to the city at this time is likely. The Ocean Resort Casino and the Hard Rock Atlantic City are just a short walk from each other, so visitors will easily be able to visit them both.
As we’ve stated before, Ocean Resort Casino was bought in January 2018 and has undergone a name change. In addition to this, the property is receiving extensive renovations, although we haven’t been told how much is being spent. The new owners are aiming to make the Ocean Resort Casino a more inviting place than it used to be.
Ocean Resort Casino Aims to Be More Family Friendly
Some of the ways Ocean Resort Casino aims to be more inviting are by removing the smoking ban and the two-night minimum stay requirement on weekends. It will also offer the world’s biggest Topgolf Swing Suite, which simulates golf games. The 5500-seat Ovation Hall Theatre is being renovated, and there will be a selection of new nightclubs, spas, and 16 different places to get some food.
The property aims to be more family-friendly, which includes a dedicated cereal restaurant for kids. Smoking will be permitted in designated areas, and the casino floor will be 138 000 square feet. However, before gambling can start taking place, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission will need to review the recommendation from the Division of Gaming Enforcement and hold a formal hearing.
