The Monte Carlo Resort and Hotel in Las Vegas has been undergoing some extensive renovations, but these have been going well according to MGM. Not only is MGM renovating the Hotel, but it will also be rebranded once the work is complete. The Monte Carlo Hotel and Resort opened in Las Vegas in 1996 and has always been one of the more popular destinations to visit in Sin City.

MGM Rebrands the Monte Carlo Las Vegas
MGM announced the planned renovations to the Monte Carlo last year, including the announcement that the renovations and rebrand would see the property accommodating two separate hotels. These two hotels will be known as Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas. The reason for the rebranding, according to the CEO and Chairman of MGM, is the company is trying to move away from the naming strategies of old. In the past, it was common practice to name a casino after other locations from around the world.
MGM feels that there is no need to name a casino after another famous location, as Las Vegas is one of the most famous gambling destinations in the world. The renovations to the hotel and casino are being carried out by a hotel developer out of New York, called Sydell Group. MGM has stated that the renovations are on schedule and proceeding as planned.
MGM property Will Offer Two hotels
The renovations to the property are quite extensive. When completed, the MGM Park will have 2700 rooms, while the NoMad will offer around 290. The developer is hoping to have around 90% of the rooms completed in the near future. Renovated rooms that are already complete are available for guests to stay in already. Some of the décor updates to the rooms include electric artwork, accent walls, and a picture window. MGM hopes these changes will appeal more to younger visitors.
Each of the new hotels will also offer their own unique restaurants and dining experiences. It has been confirmed that the NoMad hotel will have a restaurant run by Daniel Humm, a Swiss chef. All of the renovations are expected to be completed in 2018, at which time, MGM will move on to start renovating other properties.
